Collage technique is essential to my creativity and at the core of my practice. My subjects become clearer through the process of making and I am often surprised as to where I arrive. Since my early training, I have worked mostly with Textile Collage, but recently incorporated paper collage techniques, building on my own photographs and materials, using screenprint and hand painting. Nature is a stage for us on which to tell our story and hold to in moments of doubt. My images explore mystery and unknown feelings. Animals, figures, birds and nature are washed with colour and dance towards an alternative space. Current realities
and news can get woven into this storytelling in unexpected ways. In these pictures I react to and process life, very often ‘mending’ it in fabric or paper collage, in colour and imagination.
